MMACHS is a fully accredited free four-year public charter high school operating independently within the West Ada School District. While providing students with immediately applicable, practical skills, our comprehensive, health science-centered curriculum also equips students with the tools they need to succeed as they progress to the post-secondary level.

Tonight, the Meridian Medical Arts Charter High School Board of Directors recognized Brandy Funk for her selection as the 2026 CTEI Teacher of the Year for Idaho at the regular board meeting.

We are incredibly thankful and blessed to have Brandy as part of the MMACHS family, where she teaches EMT in our certification program. Her professional expertise, passion for emergency medical services, and commitment to preparing students for careers in healthcare make a tremendous difference every day.

A huge thank you to @bryantideasid for the incredible ambulance renovation just in time for the new school year!

Made possible through our CSP grant and the support of @bluumorg and the @idahocharters , this ambulance is more than a great marketing tool, it’s a hands-on learning lab for our EMT students.

We’re so grateful for this partnership and can’t wait for our students to put it to use!

Brandy‘s passion for emergency medical education, unwavering dedication to her students, and commitment to excellence make her an outstanding representative of Meridian Medical Arts Charter High School. We are incredibly proud to celebrate this well-deserved recognition and grateful for the impact she makes every day in preparing the next generation of healthcare professionals.

MMACHS extends a warm welcome to our new Assistant Janitor, Mr. Seth Blevins, who will be supporting MMACHS and the Tech School during the mid-day to early evening hours.

Beginning July 1, Idaho law requires all public schools to observe a daily 60-second moment of silence at the beginning of each school day.

At Meridian Medical Arts Charter High School, this moment of silence will be incorporated into the daily morning routine in every classroom at 7:44 am. During this time, students will remain silent, and no instruction or other classroom activities will take place.

This is a statewide requirement for all Idaho public schools. We wanted to share this information with families now, so they are aware of this change before the start of the school year. We encourage parents and guardians to have a conversation with their student about the purpose of this new law. MMACHS staff will not encourage or discourage the students choice so long as it is silent and does not interfere with other students or school/student safety.

We are excited to welcome Mr. Mario Dembi as our new Head Janitor, where he will lead the custodial teams at both Meridian Medical Arts Charter High School and our friends next door at MTCHS.

Mario joins us from Victory Middle School and has already made a tremendous impression with his positive attitude, strong work ethic, and commitment to excellence. From day one, he has enthusiastically stepped into a leadership role, pulling double duty to help ensure both campuses provide a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for our students and staff.

We are excited to announce that Mrs. Schmidt will be joining Meridian Medical Arts Charter High School as our new Academic Counselor. With more than 20 years of experience supporting adolescents in education, she brings a wealth of knowledge, compassion, and a deep commitment to helping students succeed both academically and personally.

Mrs. Schmidt is passionate about building meaningful relationships with students and families while guiding them through their high school journey, college and career planning, and personal growth. We are confident her experience and dedication will have a lasting impact on our school community.

We are thrilled to announce that Mrs. Hilary Chitwood will be joining Meridian Medical Arts Charter High School as our new Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Instructor, bringing back one of our most anticipated programs for the 2026–2027 school year.

Mrs. Chitwood brings more than 20 years of nursing experience in hospitals, clinics, and public health settings. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Northwest Nazarene University and is a Registered Nurse in the State of Idaho.

Her passion for healthcare and commitment to educating future medical professionals make her an outstanding addition to our team. We are excited for our students to learn from her experience and leadership as we continue preparing the next generation of healthcare professionals.

Tonight, Dr. Merrill had the opportunity to present Meridian Medical Arts Charter High School at PI STEM Charter School, sharing information about our program and what makes MMACHS a strong option for future high school students.

With PI STEM closing at the end of this school year, we wanted to ensure families are aware of the high-quality, tuition-free high school options available to them.

Thank you to BLUUM and the Idaho Charter School Association for hosting this important event and supporting families during this transition.

West Ada Middle School Students: We’re visiting your school! Follow the link in our story to find out when our seniors will be visiting to demonstrate health science skills and answer your questions about becoming a Guardian Knight.

This week our juniors had the opportunity to tour the surgical center at the VA in Boise. Students were able to practice using various pieces of equipment and perform a mock appendectomy. Thank you to the VA for this unique opportunity!

Yesterday at their monthly meeting, our school board recognized Halle Nielsen for her heroic actions in providing life saving aid to a motorcyclist who was severely injured in an accident. MMACHS will be releasing a short video where Halle shares the story in her own words. Stay tuned!

We had an amazing first day of school today! It was wonderful to see all of our Guardian Knights under one roof for the first time this school year!
