Arn Allemand
Science
Mr. Allemand has been at MMACHS since the fall of 2004. His classes include College Chemistry (NNU), College Anatomy & Physiology (NNU), Biology, and CrossFit elective. In addition to his teaching duties, Mr. Allemand serves as a mentor for our school's HOSA: Future Health Professionals chapter with interests in research methods and design. Arn taught sciences previously at Meridian High School and served as head volleyball, and hurdles coach of the track team. At home he fills time with his wife Nikki, his sons RJ, and Nathan, and three big dogs Duke, Emery, & Yuki while enjoying everything and almost anything outdoors.

Cindy Ascuena
Health Science / HOSA Advisor
Ms. Ascuena has been teaching since 1986, with a career spanning from the elementary to the high school and collegiate level, and a curriculum list that includes the entirety of the health-science course catalogue. She also spent time as an athletic trainer as well as a track and volleyball coach at Centennial High School. After a brief retirement to care for her husband she has returned to MMACHS to teach Freshmen Health Occupations. Ms. Ascuena led the way in building the MMACHS HOSA program as the lead advisor for ten years, and continues to help our chapter as well as the Idaho State HOSA organization. She has raised two sons, Tyler and Tanner, and enjoys spending time with her grandsons Theodore and Thomas. Her comfort dogs Sadie and Levi are frequent visitors to the building.

Lindley Ballen
Science
Ms. Ballen has been at MMACHS since 2019. Her classes include Biology, College Biology I (ISU), and College Biology II (ISU). Ms. Ballen also serves as an advisor for Student Council and is on the school’s Unofficial Party Planning and Joy Spreading Committee. Ms. Ballen lived in several different states before coming to Idaho and received her bachelor's degree from CSU Monterey Bay and master’s from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. In her free time, she participates in AKC shows and field trials with her Vizsla pup.

Ann Biason
Math
Mrs. Biason joined the MMACHS staff in Fall 2024 and teaches Math 1. She has taught secondary mathematics for almost three decades, including at Lake Hazel Middle School, Meridian High School, and for over a decade in Las Vegas. She earned a bachelor’s degree in secondary mathematics education and a master’s degree in education technology, both from the University of Nevada Las Vegas. Moving with her family to the Treasure Valley in 2005, they enjoyed being involved in sports, Scouts, and in the community. Her daughter is a graduate of MMACHS, and both her daughter and son are in health professions. When not in school, Mrs. Biason enjoys reading, puzzles, word games, being outside, and spending time with her family.

Brandy Funk
EMT
Mrs. Funk has been at MMACHS since the fall of 2023 and has been teaching EMT Basic classes since 2014. Previously she taught EMT courses at Renaissance High School for the West Ada School District and for the College of Southern Idaho before that. Mrs. Funk is an Advanced EMT and has been working in Emergency Services since 2006. When Funk is not in her classroom, she can be found working on the ambulance or out with her husband Rick camping, fishing, razor ridding all over Idaho. She also loves spending as much time as she can with her 3 girls Ryan, Kylie, and Alexis as well as her 2 grandchildren Lily and Waylon.

Blake Gaudet
Social Studies / HOSA Advisor
Mr. Gaudet has been at MMACHS since the fall of 2014. His classes include College Economics (NNU), Honors American Government, Medical Law and Ethics (ISU), and Intro to Psychology (NNU). In addition to his teaching duties, Mr. Gaudet serves as the lead advisor for our school's HOSA: Future Health Professionals chapter. Before coming to MMACHS, he taught in the Kuna School District at both the middle school and high school level. He has a bachelor's degree in Political Science and Economics and a master's degree in teaching, both from the College of Idaho. At home he enjoys spending time with his wife, Dana, his daughter, Ellie, and his dog, Dottie.

Nathan Green
English / Key Club Advisor
Mr. Green has taught English Language Arts at MMACHS since 2014. He teaches 10th-grade Honors American Literature and 12th-grade College Composition. He also serves as the advisor for the yearbook, the senior project, The Knightly News, Key Club, and Tea Club. Prior to MMACHS, Mr. Green taught at Boise State University, the College of Western Idaho, La Universidad Tecnologica de la Mixteca (Mexico) and The Mazapan School (Honduras). He also served as a Peace Corps volunteer in the Kyrgyz Republic. He earned his bachelor's degree in journalism from the University of Montana and his master's in English from Boise State. In his free time, he enjoys hiking, biking, and snowboarding.

Margo Hollingsworth
Math / Pharmacy Science / NHS Advisor
Ms. Hollingsworth has taught mathematics at MMACHS since 2015. Her classes include Pre-Calculus, Statistics, and Pharmacy Technician. She is the Schoology coordinator for our school and serves as National Technical Honor Society advisor. She also works in industry as a Certified Pharmacy Technician. In her spare time, she enjoys crocheting and reading.

Elena Luaces-Dryer
Spanish
Mrs. Luaces-Dryer has been at MMACHS since the fall of 2014. Her classes include College Elementary Spanish 1 (NNU), College Intermediate Spanish 2 (NNU), College Intermediate Spanish 3 (NNU) and College Intermediate Spanish 4 (NNU). Before coming to MMACHS, she taught in the Clark County School District in Nevada, and completed both her undergraduate and graduate studies in Spanish at the University of California, Irvine. She also earned a master's degree at Sierra Nevada College in Education. At home she enjoys spending time with her husband, daughter and son, as well as her horse and Golden Retrievers.

Health Science
Mr. Marion has been at MMACHS since the fall of 2022. He will be teaching Health & Wellness to freshman and sophomores. Before coming to MMACHS, he taught at Lowell Scott (7 years) and Heritage (15 years) middle schools in the West Ada School District. He earned his bachelor's degree from Northwest Nazarene University and master's degree from Idaho State University. Away from work he enjoys fly fishing, running, hiking, reading, Boise State Football, LA Dodgers, Seattle Seahawks, college basketball, and spending time with his wife, Brandi, and kids, Jenna and Jace.

Mrs. McClure has been at MMACHS since 2019. Her classes include English 9, English 11 (English 1175: Literature and Ideas with ISU) and Drawing and Painting. Before coming to MMACHS, she taught in the West Ada School District. She earned her bachelor's in English with a minor in art from the College of Idaho. She obtained a master's in Education, Reading from Boise State University, and an Educational Specialist degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Idaho. At home, she enjoys crafting, reading, and spending time with her family and her two goldendoodles.

Jonathan Skaar
Health Science / Sports Medicine / HOSA Advisor
Mr. Skaar joined MMACHS in the Fall of 2024, where he teaches Health Professions (ISU), Health Applications (ISU), and Sports Medicine 2. In addition to his teaching responsibilities, he also serves as the co-HOSA advisor, supporting students in health science competitions and leadership activities. Before coming to MMACHS, Mr. Skaar worked as an athletic trainer in various clinical, secondary, and collegiate settings, and spent eight years teaching kinesiology as an assistant professor in Southern California. Outside of work, he enjoys quality time with his wife, Katrina, their son, Kaleb, and their Jindo pup, Sweetie.

Technology
Mrs. Wheeler has been at MMACHS since the fall of 2022. Her classes include Personal Finance (BSU), Computer Applications (BSU), and Technology Life and Careers. Before coming to MMACHS, she taught at Meridian High School, and she earned both her bachelor's and master's degrees at the University of Idaho. At home she enjoys reading and spending time with her family.

Math
Mr. Winkelman has been at MMACHS since the fall of 2017. His classes include Math 2, Math 3 and Calculus (NNU). Before coming to MMACHS he taught for many years at Vallivue High School, then one year at the new school Ridgevue. He graduated from Northwest Nazarene University in 1993. Outside of school he enjoys time with his wife and visiting his grandchildren, 2 in Idaho, 2 in Salem, Oregon, and 3 in Jacksonville, Florida. He spends his summers living like a retired pirate on his sailboat in Mississippi.

Abby Wood
Social Studies
Ms. Wood has been teaching at MMACHS since 2024. She teaches Social Studies and Freshman Cornerstone classes. Ms. Wood began her teaching career in Durham, North Carolina after receiving her Master of Arts in Teaching from Duke University in 2022. Ms. Wood is an Idaho native who studied Political Science at Boise State. She centers project-based learning, group collaboration, and high engagement strategies in her teaching practice. Outside the classroom, Ms. Wood loves to thrift, silversmith, and be outside. When she's not teaching, you can usually find her camping, hiking with her dog, or rock hounding gems to forge into jewelry.
