MMACHS Receives Top Niche Ranking

By: MMACHS Staff

For the fourth year in a row, Meridian Medical Arts Charter High School was ranked by Niche as the #1 charter high school in Idaho, and the #2 overall high school in the state. The ranking is based on multiple factors including academics, quality of teachers, college preparedness, and the availability of clubs and activities.

Niche also ranked MMACHS in the top 2% of high schools in the entire United States.

Principal Dr. Ben Merrill, who took over the helm in June, is honored but not surprised by the recognition, attributing it to the school's community.

"In the time I’ve spent at Meridian Medical Arts Charter High School, it’s clear to me why our school is ranked #1 in the state." he says, "One of the most striking things is the strong sense of purpose shared by both students and staff. Our students are not only academically driven but are also deeply passionate about the medical field, which creates a unique learning environment. The staff is equally remarkable, offering personalized support and fostering a rigorous integrated curriculum that challenges students while preparing them for their future careers."

He continues, "It's a reflection of the hard work and dedication of our entire school community—students, staff, and families. It speaks to the high academic standards we uphold and the commitment our students have to their education and future careers."

The honor adds to a string of recent accolades earned by the school and students. Last month MMACHS students were ranked among or at the top in the Math, Science, and ELA ISAT scores.

MMACHS is a four year, comprehensive high school that specializes in the health sciences. While the campus serves as an Idaho Career Technical Center, preparing its students for immediate employment in the healthcare field, it also specializes in college preparation. Meridian Medical has one of the highest "Go-On" rates in Idaho, and offers an Associate of Science in Health Science through Idaho State University.
